Cosmetology Course

 

The cosmetology course content is a 10 month program for day students and 20 months for evening students. There is 240 hours of class room instruction and 1310 hours of clinical floor experience.

Upon completion of the cosmetology program the students will have acquired enough practical experience and coordinated theory to start a successful career as Cosmetologist professional. The graduates will also be eligible to take the Minnesota licensing exam in order to become a licensed Cosmetologist.

Graduation Requirements

Upon completion of the following, the student will receive a diploma:

•  Minnesota 's minimum service requirements

•  Pass all exams with 80% or above

•  1,550 hours in cosmetology instruction

•  Fulfill enrollment contract

•  Skill certification as required by the state of Minnesota

•  Written exams

  Rochester School of Hair Design provides students tuition aid for those who qualify. VA Benefits are available to those who qualify. New Students should meet with financial advisor to determine their individual financial eligibility prior to the start of school. Beauty Career Counseling

 

The second half of the equation is beauty career counseling. We continually build relationships with the best Beauty Salons and spas in the southeastern Minnesota area. Requesting their input and feedback on our beauty curriculum and preparing students for their businesses.

Employment
Cosmetologists, barbers, and other personal appearance workers held over 800,000 jobs in 2006. Most of these workers are employed in beauty salons or barber shops, but they are also found in department stores, nursing homes, and drug and cosmetics stores. Approximately half are self-employed.

Earnings
A Cosmetologist's initiative and ability to attract and hold regular clients are key factors in determining earnings. With the growth of the image industry, the demand for professionals has never been greater. Graduates can expect exciting careers where they can use their creativity and skills.
